To find out where symbols and Greek letters are, first, open “Basic Math Assistant” pallet.
Open the “Typesetting” section,
Then select the second tab that shows ∞ β.
Once the ∞ β tab opens, you have enter any Greek alphabet by a simply clicking on the character. However, Mathematica offers a great short-cut for those who must repeatedly enter these alphabets by allowing you to directly enter them by using the Esc key sequence. The Esc key sequence for each character will be displayed as you hover (without clicking) your mouse over each character. Then a small pop up window will open and show the sequence. In the diagram below, the mouse is hovering over the character α, the pop up windows comes up and shows that they key entry sequence is Esc a Esc. That is, if you press the Esc key, then the a key, then the Esc key, you will have Greek α entered in your Mathematica notebook. Every character has this Esc key sequence.
